UPDATE FROM ROBERTSON HOMES: 37 Housing Development, Gate Lane

Further to the correspondence below  I have been informed that our groundworks contractor will be starting onsite tomorrow.

The first action will be to deliver an excavator to the site in order to begin forming the site access from Gate Lane so that any future deliveries can be offloaded inside the side and off Gate Lane. The plan is to deliver the excavator at around 9.15-9.30 in the morning to avoid the morning traffic. The low loader lorry which will deliver the excavator will need to stop on Gate Lane for around 15 minutes to offload the excavator into site. This may restrict the access along Gate Lane for the short period though we will have staff on hand to direct traffic.

As per our discussion when we met on site previously the works for the remainder of the week will consist of the single machine creating an access into the site with intermittent stone deliveries. Any small vehicles associated with the works will enter the site via the existing field gates as discussed.

After these works all future deliveries and vehicle movements into the site will be able to drive straight off Gate Lane and into the site.

I understand there is a parish council meeting tonight so if you could please pass on this information to your colleagues.

With regard to the hedge trimming. We are currently preparing to trim the hedges around the full development and will include Gate Lane within these works.

UPDATE: 37 Housing Development, Gate Lane, Low Coniscliffe

Following recent contact with Robertson Homes, a response was received from Richard Bass, Regional Director, in which he stated he was keen to re-engage communications, as Robertson’s head towards commencement of building works on site; indicating early September.
With this in mind, Richard suggested a meeting prior to works starting, to explain how they planned to carry out the works, proposed timescales, and to meet the team who will be responsible for the development on a daily basis.
Richard indicated he was keen to understand any concerns held and hoped these could be addressed before the works commenced and that Robertsons would like to continue dialogue as works continue in the future.

Due to the inevitable tight timescale, the Parish Council, on your behalf, met with Steve Burn, Ian Gourley and Gary Chester from Robertson’s, on Thursday, 22 August 2019. A copy of the Suggestions List, together with Robertson’s comments will be delivered to you within the next day or two.

It was agreed that when site works are due to start, Robertson’s would letter drop the surrounding residents, to ensure you are aware and give contact details should you have any issues.

Should you have any initial queries, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the Parish Council.
